Namaste is a symbol of gratitude and respect. The gesture, with palms together at the

heart, represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us and is an

acknowledgement of the soul in one, by the soul in another.  Rather beautiful.

How to:

Place your palms together at the heart chakra (centre of the chest), lightly resting your thumbs to the sternum

Close your eyes and bow your head

It can also be done by placing your palms together in front of the third eye (centre of the brow), bowing your head and then bringing your hands down to your heart.  This is an especially deep form of respect.

Great for:

Sealing energy in the body and inducing a meditative state of awarness
Reducing stress and anxiety
Calming the brain
Creating flexibility in the hands, fingers, wrists, and arms
Opening the heart
